The story:
The year before the pandemic, we did something a little spontaneous -- we became part-time residents of Port Dickson.
It started as one of those “eh, maybe when we retire…” conversations. You know… slow mornings, sea breeze, small-town life. So we thought, why wait?
I rented a small apartment with a partial sea view at a pretty reasonable price -- nothing fancy, but waking up to that hint of blue on the horizon every day? Totally worth it.
Most Fridays after work, we’d drive down from KL at night, windows down, weekend mode already switched on. And because we weren’t just tourists rushing in and out, we got to experience PD differently.
We explored the quieter corners.
Ate at random warungs only locals knew about.
Found hidden coffee spots.
And honestly? Those meals hit different. Major score.
Being so close to the beach also meant we actually used it -- morning walks, sunset strolls, impromptu swims, silly family games on the sand. Simple stuff, but those are the moments that stick.
For a while, PD felt less like a getaway… and more like a second home.
So yeah -- if you ever need some exclusive PD tips, you know who to call 😉
